Mission

Sea World Foundation is Australia’s largest marine rescue charity.

For over four decades, the foundation has led the way in marine wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and release, giving tens of thousands of whales, dolphins, dugongs, seals, sharks, sea turtles, and seabirds a second chance at life. Beyond emergency response, the foundation is dedicated to protecting the marine environment for future generations through critical research and conservation efforts, empowering communities to care for our oceans.

Sea World Foundation also administers Paradise Country’s Save a Mate Conservation Campaign, aimed at safeguarding Australia’s iconic land animals.

How We Support

With every ticket you purchase directly from Village Roadshow Theme Parks—whether for thrilling rides at our theme parks, meeting our animal ambassadors, unwinding at Sea World Resort, or teeing off at Topgolf—a portion is donated to Sea World Foundation. So, whenever you visit, stay, or play, you’re helping to protect Australian wildlife.

Sea World Foundation is operated by Village Roadshow Theme Parks. We fund the charity’s core governance and administrative functions, while providing access to our zoological facilities, offices, communication channels and shared services. This approach fosters operational efficiency and reduced overhead costs, enabling the charity to concentrate its resources on returning animals to the wild and proactively preventing them coming into care in the first instance.

Rescued animals that cannot be released back to the wild, as determined by government wildlife authorities, can find a forever home at Sea World. These animals serve as ambassadors for their species, educating visitors on wildlife conservation. Village Roadshow Theme Parks fully funds the lifetime care all of rescue residents, allowing the foundation to focus on safeguarding wild populations.
