At Village Roadshow Theme Parks, reconciliation is a promise of collaboration, understanding and shared aspiration.
Village Roadshow Theme Park’s Reconciliation Action Plan articulates our vision for reconciliation as one where the cultures, knowledge and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are central to our national identity, uniting all Australians with pride in their connection to the world’s oldest continuing culture. Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, and the unique sphere of influence of our world class entertainment experiences, we are committed to contributing to the five dimensions of reconciliation - race relations, equality and equity, institutional integrity, unity, and historical acceptance – and making a meaningful impact towards Australia’s reconciliation journey.
Village Roadshow Theme Parks also works alongside independent operators* Sea World Cruises and Sea World Helicopters who have joined us in this reconciliation journey.
Village Life, an original artwork by Bundjalung/Yugambeh woman Christine Slabb, is proudly showcased throughout Village Roadshow Theme Parks’ diverse properties. Painted on Country as part of our Reconciliation Action Plan, Christine drew inspiration from the origin of our group and the interconnectedness of the five worlds to each other and the local community. Her artistry shines through her brilliant use of colours and textures, reflecting the vibrant hues of the Village Roadshow Theme Parks logo, while the intricate details within the artwork invite viewers to immerse themselves in a place of fun, education, and entertainment. To gain insight into Christine’s creative process, check out the video below, which captures her inspiring journey in bringing this remarkable piece to life.
The Yugambeh Region Aboriginal Corporation Alliance (YRACA) has established a partnership with Village Roadshow Theme Parks, aligning our commitment to working hand in hand to foster ongoing engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and receive cultural guidance regarding matters of Traditional Custodian significance. YRACA's Directorship is a dedicated team composed of esteemed members from the former GC2018 Yugambeh Elders Advisory Group and Indigenous Working Group. Together, we embark on a journey of cultural collaboration and respect.
*Sea World Cruises and Sea World Helicopters are independent professional operators and are separate to Village Roadshow Theme Parks who operates Sea World.
