Halloween on the Gold Coast is getting bigger, and 2026 gives you plenty of reasons to get involved. From full-scale horror nights and haunted experiences to dressing up with friends and making a whole weekend of it, there are Gold Coast Halloween plans for anyone who likes their October with a slightly darker side.

Whether you want to spend the night screaming through a maze, test your friends in an escape room or finally commit to that Halloween costume you've been talking about for months, here's how to make the most of Halloween on the Gold Coast this year.

Looking for Halloween events on the Gold Coast in 2026? Warner Bros. Movie World Fright Nights runs on selected nights throughout October, with haunted mazes, immersive scare precincts, escape-room-style Panic Rooms, live entertainment and selected rides after dark. Dress up, bring your friends or make a weekend of it for a Halloween experience that's anything but ordinary.

Looking for Scary Things to Do on the Gold Coast? Start Here.

If your idea of Halloween involves actually being scared, Warner Bros. Movie World Fright Nights is an obvious place to start.

Fright Nights returns for nine selected nights from 3 to 31 October 2026, transforming Warner Bros. Movie World into an after-dark horror experience.

This isn't just a Halloween-themed night at the theme park. Once darkness falls, you'll find five horror mazes, immersive scare precincts, WB Horror Encounters, live entertainment and selected rides operating after dark.

The best part? You can build your night around whatever kind of horror you enjoy most.

Love haunted houses? Head for the mazes. Want the adrenaline without quite as many creatures lurking in the shadows? Jump on a ride after dark. Prefer the atmosphere of Halloween itself? Explore the scare precincts and catch the entertainment throughout the night.

The five mazes for 2026 are Eternal Dark, Krypt of Kain, Circurse, Hellship and DCeased, each with its own horror theme and story.

We'll spare you the details here. If you want to know exactly what you're walking into, you can find all five mazes, precincts, entertainment and more in our complete Fright Nights guide.

Fright Nights takes place on 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31 October 2026, including Halloween night itself.

Four people smile and walk together under a sign reading “Eternal Dark” at night, surrounded by purple and red lights, with others and fencing in the background.
A performer in costume holding a chainsaw poses with four startled people under red lights in a large indoor venue, creating a dramatic and intense atmosphere.

Try an Escape Room This Halloween on the Gold Coast

Think you'd handle yourself well in a horror movie?

There's one way to test the theory.

Fright Nights' Panic Rooms are private escape-room-style experiences where you and your group have to solve puzzles, crack clues and work together before time runs out.

And because it's Fright Nights, these aren't exactly your standard escape rooms.

Choose from eight different Panic Rooms, including Murder in the Morgue, where the lights go out while you're investigating a gruesome scene and you must find your escape, or The Antidote, where you'll enter a dark apothecary workshop and try to avoid becoming its next unsuspecting experiment.

Panic Rooms are designed for groups of up to six people and run for approximately 20 minutes, making them easy to add between the other attractions you want to experience throughout the night.

They're also a fun option if you're heading to Fright Nights with a group. You'll learn very quickly which friend takes charge under pressure and which one is absolutely no help at all.

Panic Rooms require an additional ticket on top of your Fright Nights admission and typically sell out, so book ahead if this is high on your list of Halloween activities on the Gold Coast.

Dress Up for Halloween Gold Coast 2026

Half the fun of Halloween is deciding what you're going to wear.

If you've been waiting for an excuse to go all out with a costume, you can dress up for Fright Nights. Just make sure you check the event's costume guidelines before planning your look.

Guests are welcome to wear costumes, but there are some important rules designed to keep the event safe for everyone. Costumes can't include full-face coverings or masks, and costume makeup must still allow your face to be clearly identifiable. Props that could reasonably be mistaken for a weapon aren't permitted either.

Once you've got the rules covered, get creative.

You could coordinate costumes with your whole group, pick a horror-inspired theme or make it a competition to see who can come up with the best look. And because you're heading to a theme park, remember that you'll still want something comfortable enough to walk around in for the night.

If you've been searching for a Halloween party on the Gold Coast, dressing up with your friends and heading into a theme park filled with horror mazes, entertainment and rides after dark makes for a pretty memorable alternative to your usual Saturday night.

Turn Halloween Into a Gold Coast Weekend

Coming from Brisbane or interstate? You don't have to make Halloween a one-night affair.

October is a great excuse to turn your Gold Coast Halloween plans into a full weekend away.

Spend the day making the most of the coast before swapping the sunshine for something considerably darker at Warner Bros. Movie World. You could check into your accommodation, grab an early dinner and then head to Fright Nights ready for the evening.

The next day, slow things down. Head for breakfast or brunch, spend some time at the beach, explore another part of the Gold Coast or simply recover from however many times you screamed the night before.

If Halloween itself is the main attraction, 2026 works particularly well for a weekend away because 31 October falls on a Saturday. Fright Nights is running that night too, so interstate visitors can build an entire weekend around Halloween without needing to take much time away.

Warner Bros. Movie World is located in Oxenford, around 20 kilometres north of Surfers Paradise. If you're deciding where to stay, you could base yourself closer to the theme parks or stay around the central Gold Coast and travel north for the event.

Public transport is also an option. You can travel to Helensvale station and connect with the TX7 bus to Warner Bros. Movie World. Check out our travel guide here.

Planning a Fright Nights weekend?

Book the main event first.

Fright Nights only runs on selected dates, so locking in your preferred night gives you something to build the rest of your weekend around. From there, you can sort your accommodation, transport, and everything else you want to squeeze into your Gold Coast stay.

And if you're travelling with a group, sort out your must-do Fright Nights experiences before you arrive. Five mazes, Panic Rooms, rides, precincts and entertainment can make for a very full night.

Make This Halloween on the Gold Coast One to Remember

You don't need to settle for another ordinary night out this October.

Dress up with your friends. See how brave you really are inside a horror maze. Lock yourselves in a Panic Room and find out who completely falls apart under pressure. Ride a roller coaster after dark. Or turn the whole thing into an excuse for a weekend away.

However you do it, Halloween on the Gold Coast in 2026 is the perfect excuse to do something a little different.

And if you want the scares turned all the way up, Fright Nights is waiting.

Choose your night, round up your bravest friends and book your Fright Nights 2026 tickets.
